Tennessee Chapter Events

Dear Christian Education Supporter: 

Georgia-Cumberland Academy is dedicated to enriching the lives of families and our community by making it possible for students who want a Christian education on its campus to do so.  

On the Sunday of Homecoming Weekend, April 5-7, GCA has agreed to collaborate with the Unforgettable Foundation to run the first annual Zachary M. Negrón Unforgettable 5K Run. The Unforgettable Foundation is a nonprofit that assists at-risk and grieving families with finances to help them afford a timely and dignified funeral for their children.”  

It is partnering with the Negrón family, who endowed a scholarship in memorial of their son, Zachary Negrón (Class of 2020), who died in a car accident in December 2020. In just 3 years, the Negrón family has been able to give $10,000 in scholarship money to students who exemplify characteristics Zachary lived by: integrity and hard work to achieve one’s goals. The goal is to be able to grow the endowment so as to give 6 $1,000 scholarships annually—2 to freshmen, 2 to sophomores, and 2 to juniors. 

The proceeds earned from this race will ultimately benefit two causes: grieving families who cannot afford a funeral for children who passed away and students who wish to continue their education at GCA.

Our sponsors will reach a target market of approximately 2-300 runners and their families, renters, and homeowners of Gordon County, Georgia. The goal in future years will be to grow that impact significantly. Promotional material, as well as event-day publicity, will showcase our generous sponsors. In addition, this information will be included in GCA’s newsletter that goes to all of their alumni.  

We will gladly accept donations until the date of the race, but for maximum marketing exposure for this year’s race, please return your sponsorship by February 29, 2024.
